How it works

I specialize in efficiently unlocking American and Asian made vehicles with precision and care. Using a wide range of specialized lock picks designed for most makes and models, I’m able to gain access without causing damage. This approach helps prevent the damage that can be caused by more invasive tools, such as scratched paint or cracked windows.

FAQ

  • Once I arrive at your location I can typically gain access within 5 minutes, but this can vary by vehicle.

  • As a small business, I’ve chosen not to invest in costly key-cutting machines, programming equipment, or maintain a large inventory of expensive replacement keys and fobs. By focusing exclusively on lockout services, I’m able to keep overhead low and pass those savings directly on to you. I would be happy to recommend other locksmiths who can help with key replacements.

  • I accept all major credit cards as well as cash.

  • In the unlikely scenario I am unable to use my lockpick I will resort to other tools that you may be familiar with. If I feel that any method I have available to me may cause damage to the vehicle I will inform you promptly and there will be no charge. I can then recommend other locksmiths who can assist you.

  • I gladly offer a 10% discount for Military and First Responders.

  • Currently I have the capability to confidently open American and Asian made vehicles. German made vehicles such as BMW, Audi and Mercedes require expensive tools as well as extensive training to safely unlock. I am actively looking to further my knowledge and expand into the German market.

  • In order to best serve my customers and ensure prompt service, I limit my area of operation to within Salt Lake County. If you are outside of the county feel free to contact me with questions and I can refer you to a qualified locksmith that can assist you.

About me

Hi, I’m Jon Babcock.

After high school, I proudly served four years in the United States Air Force. During that time, I learned the value of discipline, integrity, and serving others — values I still carry into my work today.

After separating from the military, my wife and I moved back to Florida, where I apprenticed under master locksmith John Blackburn of Mobile Locksmith in Gainesville. For several years, I focused on learning the trade the right way and mastering the skills needed to serve customers professionally and efficiently.

We later moved to Utah to start our family and begin a new chapter. Once here, I noticed many people were being charged $275 or more for simple car lockouts. I knew there had to be a better option.

By focusing exclusively on automotive lockouts, I’m able to keep my overhead low and provide fast, reliable service at a fair and honest price.
